Powerful Conversations*
(For individuals, teams, groups and organizations)
Saying the ‘hard truth’ is a major communication skill leaders want to master. It is not difficult to communicate well when we are feeling great. But in stressful situations, all kinds of communication breakdown can occur:
- Giving a critical performance review;
- Saying no to someone;
- Confronting disrespectful behavior;
- Asking for your needs to be met.
We all must deal with difficult conversations at work and at home. We sometimes attempt them; we often avoid them. The challenge in communication is that everyone has a different picture of reality based on different perspectives, information and perceptions.
Coaching Designs International helps you develop a process to facilitate these conversations. Depending upon your situation, you may wish to participate in a Reconciliation Process if your communication involves a team or group of people.
Coaching takes you through a discovery process so you can go beyond your assumptions:
- Learn how to initiate a difficult conversation based on a neutral story;
- Say anything - with the appropriate language and intention;
- Make a conscious choice to be generous and compassionate to create a space for dialogue;
- Move toward the best possible outcome.
