360 Degree Feedback Process
Options
We deliver 360 Degree Feedback processes that provide leaders with useful, relevant recommendations on how to improve their performance. At CDI, we work with a number of 360 Degree Feedback tools that either offer a standardized set of questions or enable organizations to develop their own set of questions. There is also an option to create a customized survey with clear, behavioral, and job-relevant questions that provide useful feedback for oriented behavior change.
Most often, we employ an electronic version of the 360 Degree Feedback Process that can be customized to the competencies required in the client’s role, i.e. senior executive, corporate leader, or individual contributor. The tool provides in-depth feedback on many aspects of a leader’s workplace behavior. Two classes of competencies are covered: those related to managing and interacting with colleagues (Leading People) and those related to typical initiatives and duties performed by leaders (Organizational Leadership).
The process
First, a CDI coach and client discuss challenging behaviors and competencies to be addressed in the assessment. Respondents complete a questionnaire and the CDI coach meets with each respondent to get an in-depth understanding of their answers. A confidential summary is then prepared for the client as a basis for the coaching relationship. The client receives a summary of the answers. Respondents are not identified except by “grouping”, i.e. peers, direct reports. In this manner the CDI coach can interpret the answers through the varying lenses/needs of each group.
Feedback is completely confidential and is shared only by the coach and client. Once the feedback has been discussed with the client, we jointly create a leadership development plan which is shared with the client’s immediate manager. This allows significant opportunities for professional development.
